Her Story

Gabrielle has been writing her whole life, but she began to do it for work in 2021. She has written for TheGamer since that time, producing regular trivia content, guides, and features about current games and gaming news. In addition to her work there, Gabrielle has freelanced at other publications, including the Kitchissippi Times, apt613, The Charlatan, and others. For a full list of her best work, view her portfolio.

Gabrielle attends Carleton University, earning her undergraduate degree double-majoring in Journalism and the Humanities. She believes that her education in Humanities subjects, including history, philosophy, literature, and more, provides an important understanding of human history in the West which all modern journalism will ultimately be framed by. It allows her to engage in important conversations about culture and the changing world with empathy and a critical mind.

Gabrielle worked dedicatedly at Starbucks for four years, as a barista and then as a supervisor. Her time with the company honed her leadership, coaching, customer service, and team-building skills.

In her spare time, one will often find her with a cup of tea and a good book, with her friends out on the town, or playing a video game.
